Trichocereus huanucoensis is a beautiful glaucous blue to green columnar cactus that has thick broad ribs and features bridgesii like long yellow spines.
This specific cultivar is known as ‘Huan Depot’ which is the huanucoensis l originally from Altman Plants. We’re also growing the ‘Don Huan’ Trichocereus huanucoensis originally from Serra Gardens and hope to offer cuttings in 2026.
We love Trichocereus huanucoensis for its thicker body and fewer rib count giving it a more squared off column complimented by a nice blue skin, and similar long slender yellow spines to the bridgesii offer a nice stark contrast to its muscular appearance. It’s slower growing, more fungal & rot prone than other Trichocereus in cultivation making it a nice challenging addition and striking columnar piece in any San Pedro collection.
